HAPPY NEW YEAR! GOODBYE 2005!
2005 kinda flew past.. I can't really think of any significant events that happnened throughout the year and i thank god for a relatively smooth-sailing and trouble free year. Firstly the only thing i can think of is that 2005 is prob the year which I travelled out of sg the most.. be it sailing or holiday.. Penang, Hong Kong, Macau, KL-genting, JB, Taiwan-Kaohsiung, maybe u waNna count south china sea and straits of Malacca to add on to the list. Secondly also meeting a new grp of frens in the med ctr who are fun and enjoyable to be with..
I'm not a person who wants to make full use of evey min/sec of my life to do practical things to the extent that I feel drained(at least not in this stage of my life). Not that I'm wasting the time I have now away, things that needs to be done still has to be done. What I mean is that not everything we do or ask for has to have a aim or purpose, if it is so, life would be very tiring and materialistic. There will be no room for creativity, no room for spontaneity, and sadly sometimes no room for human interation/emotions to come into play. But I do agree that we should have a general direction in life that we work towards. I cherish and appreciate the time I have now, to enjoy the company of my family and friends, to have the freedom to do i want within my limits, pick up new interests/hobbies, learn new things at my own comfortable pace, and also to plan and think about my future from time to time. I believe that NS is a gd time for guys to take a break, pause, reflect and think about what you really want in life, esp after having more exposure to people from all woks of life, and experiences of some kind or another within that time frame.
Quite apprehensive abt 2006 though. Say bye bye to slacking in front of the com/tv at home everyday. Really lots of uncertainties ahead. Uni itself would be a BIG question mark. No matter where I end up, I will want to make the best out of it. Hopefully not science though.
Ushered in the new year by having steamboat at ken's place. Rather nice and cosy feeling.. Beats squeezing through the crowds.. Less damaging to our pockets too.. imagine having to dine out.. mahjong session proceeds as usual after dinner.. HmmpHz that was damaging to my pocket! Watched fireworks from his living roon window.. 27th storey at toapayoh.. far cry from qw's fren's harbourfront condo though.. but no choice.. suck thumb hahaha
Went to weiping's houswarming party with my usual cathhigh peeps.. No S77 ppl, No band ppl! You guys ah! i was expecting to see at least a feww peeps but none except Dennis. Haven seen him for ages.. Went to orchard( still as crowded as ever) to buy some gifts and headed home.
